DUNROBIN – Fairly or unfairly, the Dunrobin Plaza has become a symbol of the 2018 tornado and the Dunrobin community’s effort to recover from it.

CARP – The dream is starting to take shape and Dave Smith’s family dropped by his life-long vision, a state-of-the-art youth treatment centre now under construction in the Carp Road Corridor, and widow Darlene Smith is blown away by what she sees.

CARP – Cathy Gagliardi moved from Montreal to Carp last year, and she has brough her love of dance and movement with her.

DUNROBIN – While special guest Kate McDermott spoke of 35 years living above the treeline, the Dunrobin and District Women’s Institute (WI) spoke on the last year during a Monday (April 3) night event part social, part business.

CORKERY – It was a year of anticipation in Corkery. With last June’s ground-breaking on a massive Corkery Community centre expansion, construction was expected to begin later that same summer.

HORSESHOE VALLEY – Dunrobin Shore’s Caily-Grace Lemmex, 13, is a Canadian champion after winning gold at Canada Snowboard’s Speed Nation U15 National Championship held at Horseshoe Valley March 14 to March 19.

CARP – West Carleton’s last volunteer fire Chief and life long community volunteer, Terry Kelly passed away at the age of 87 on March 9.

DUNROBIN – Recently retired Vera Vorel wanted to volunteer in her community. Unsure where to go in Dunrobin to network, Vorel came up with an idea that kills two birds with one stone. Figuratively.
