KINBURN – The Reillys have lived on their one-acre Diamondview Road property for nearly 50 years, and bit-by-bit have created a home complete with year-round food security.

GALETTA – It was a turnout that even surprised the Galetta Community Association (GCA) as the Galetta Community Centre hall was filled with families enjoying brunch, kids were searching the grounds for treats and even Fitzroy Harbour’s volunteer firefighters dropped by for a visit.

WEST CARLETON – West Carleton kids were off school last week, so the community’s libraries stepped up to provide fun and educational opportunities for those kids and even some of their parents.

CARP – It has been one heck of a week for Patrick Rupert and his young son Hunter, which started March 5 with a frantic escape from his burning home in downtown Carp.

CONSTANCE BAY – In what seems to be a bit of a recent trend for West Carleton community meetings, the community association servicing Constance and Buckham’s bays had a good turnout for its Sunday (March 3) afternoon annual general meeting.

KINBURN – A workshop focusing on the province’s electrical system was filled to capacity earlier this week (March 4), and not just locals, as all of Ottawa works to get a grasp on the country’s push to increase electricity capacity.

WEST CARLETON – Ward 5’s Rural Summit Resident Working Group (RWG) representatives have been named and both of them are long time advocates for rural issues in West Carleton.

KINBURN – For West Carleton Disaster Relief (WCDR), 2023 was another year that involved a flood response, but the not-for-profit volunteer disaster response and recover organization also enjoyed a year of growth, attendees to Monday’s (Feb. 26) annual general meeting heard.

BUCKHAM’S BAY – The Family Day weekend’s rare blast of winter was well timed on a weekend featuring three different ice fishing derbies in the Constance Bay area.

BUCKHAM’S BAY – While people were dipping a line in Constance Bay Family Day Saturday (Feb. 17), humans were dipping themselves in Buckham’s Bay for the first Great Constance Bay Chill-off: Plunge in to Winter Wellness.
