MORRIS ISLAND – It was an opportunity to share the words describing your current situation, then cover them with paint in a small therapy session that was also one of West Carleton’s first public fundraisers in the time of COVID-19.

WEST CARLETON – In an effort to move forward as an organization, West Carleton Disaster Relief (WCDR) is focusing on a proactive approach to help West Carleton residents deal with potential disasters before they happen.

FITZROY HARBOUR – In 2014 Hans and Shannon Gartner bought a historic cottage on Kedey Island in Fitzroy Harbour. In 2017 the cottage, a former servants’ quarters dating back to 1947, was hit hard by at-the-time record flooding. In 2019 the extreme flooding made 2017 look like a dry run.

CROWN POINT – A mid-air plane collision early this evening (June 14) dumped one airplane in the Ottawa River and forced the other to land in Arnprior, but amazingly no one was seriously injured.

CONSTANCE BAY – For more than two months, Baylicious Baykery’s Jeanne Gauthier has been providing free meals for the seniors and vulnerable in her community.

KINBURN – Five years and 106,431 empty bottles later, Kinburn’s William Riley has raised $10,643.15 for The Abilities Centre Ottawa.
