FITZROY HARBOUR – The Concerts in the Park music series kicked off in Fitzroy Provincial Park last Thursday (July 7) and judging by the large opening night crowd, it had been sorely missed over the last two years.

CARP – The volunteers of the Huntley Township Historical Society (HTHS) have spent the last two years giving their Carp Airport building a good COVID-cleaning and on June 25 opened their doors to the community for the first time since before the start of the pandemic.

KINBURN – The West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC) enjoyed increased donations through COVID-19  attendees of last week’s (June 28) annual general meeting heard.

CORKERY – The Corkery Community Association (CCA) joined Mayor Jim Watson and Ward 5 Coun. Eli El-Chantiry today (June 27) planting shovels in the ground just outside the community centre, a symbolic start to construction expected to begin this fall.

CARP – Dignitaries, politicians and the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre (DSYTC) team gathered in a field just off the Carp Road for an emotional ceremony to break ground on the new facility.

CARP – It was an idea sparked before the pandemic but brought to realization afterwards, as the residents of Inniskillin Drive brought the community together for an early evening street party Saturday, June 18.

CORKERY – Years in the planning, shovels will hit the ground on the Corkery Community Centre expansion Monday, June 27 and your invited.

CARP – Family, friends and lots and lots of former students dropped by the Carp Mess Hall Saturday (June 4) afternoon to celebrate popular West Carleton teacher and coach George Wilson’s 80th birthday.

CARP – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s (RCMP) first Musical Ride in more than two years touched down on the Carp Fair’s Heavy Horse Show Ring Saturday (May 28) and the precision delighted a huge crowd of spectators.
