CARP – On a perfect summer evening last Thursday, (Aug. 15) Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) Station 64’s volunteer firefighters hosted its annual corn boil.

KINBURN – Last week a community group opposed to a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility proposed for the community officially organized, and today (Aug. 14) the Alliance to Protect West Carleton (APWC) submitted a more than 630-name strong petition to city hall as their first official act.

WEST CARLETON – Yesterday’s (Aug. 9) deluge came down hard and fast and caused havoc across the city, but especially in Ward 5 where pooling water flooded hundreds of basements and damaged roads, ditches and lawns, even closing businesses across West Carleton.

MANOTICK – Since 1984 more than two million trees have been planted in West Carleton.

FITZROY HARBOUR – Father John Orban will start work at a new parish in the Manotick area this week, but last week he took one last trip down memory lane with West Carleton Online, talking about his time leading Fitzroy Harbour and Constance Bay’s Catholic churches.

CONSTANCE BAY – It was a hall full of painters helping the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Association (CBBCA) raise a whopping $1,200 on Saturday, July 28.
