CARP ROAD CORRIDOR – Evolution Wake Park has had to cancel the 2021 Ontario Wake Series kick-off event it was set to host on July 10 due to COVI-19.
“We regret to announce that we have to cancel our event scheduled for July 10,” Evolution Wake Park released in a statement today (June 23). “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for anyone planning to join us from out of town.”
Carp’s Evolution Wake Park boasts a 600-foot cable system built on a man-made lake at 3119 Carp Rd. Owner Jordan Sien, a wakeboard competitor and instructor, has hosted several competitions at the park including the 2019 Ontario Wake Park Series kick off. It was the first time a wakeboard competition was held in the Ottawa area.
The park was set to host the event featuring the area’s top wake boarders competing with jumps and tricks for top prizes in the first stop of the 2021 Ontario Wake Park Series. But COVID-19 has derailed those plans.
The next stop on the five stop series is scheduled for July 24 in Shelburne, ON, and was scheduled to wrap up at the end of August in King Township, ON.
Sien hopes to be able to host another event later in the season.
“We remain optimistic that the current climate will improve over the summer months,” he said. “With this we will be on standby and hope to run an event in the fall. Stay safe, healthy and we hope to link up with everyone in a few months.”
