Carp Santa Claus drive-through parade back in 2021
Special to WC Online
CARP – It was the hit of West Carleton’s first COVID-Christmas and its back again this year as the Carp Agricultural Society (CAS) will host Carp’s 12th Annual Santa Claus Parade Drive Thru Style on Dec. 11.
Organizers hope to repeat the success of last year’s event while avoiding the rain that cascaded down during the first drive-through parade last year. With the static format of the parade where the floats are stationary and the community drives through, it was easy for visitors to stay dry in their cars.
“And just like that Christmas is around the corner,” the Carp Fair released in a statement yesterday (Nov. 3). “We are so excited to announce we will be hosting the 12th annual CAS Christmas parade on Dec. 11. We hope to see you all there.”
The parade will be open to motorists between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The parade route starts at the entrance of the W. Erskine Johnston Arena, wind through the parade route lined with stationary floats and exhibits and exit on to Langstaff Drive at the Huntley Curling Club entrance. Entry to the parade is a donation of cash, gifts and food which will be collected along the route.
Parade organizers are now accepting float entries for the event. For more information or to enter a float contact CAS director Annie Craig at annie@gadar.ca or 613-558-8286.
