CARP – One of the most popular euchre tournaments in the Ottawa Valley kicks off this Saturday (Feb. 19) with $800 in prizes to be won.
The uncertainty is over as the Carp Agricultural Society (CAS) and Ottawa Public Health (OPH) have given the go-ahead for the return of the popular euchre tournament with the first of the now-three series tournament battling for the prestigious Ross Craig Memorial trophy.
The popular, annual tournament had to cancel last year’s event and the first of this year’s series which was originally set for Jan. 15 due to COVID-19. But restrictions are loosening and Carp Fair euchre is back this Saturday (Feb. 19) with registration starting at noon at the Carp Agricultural Hall (3790 Carp Rd.) Registration will be first come, first serve.
Games start at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and includes lunch. Drinks are available for purchase.
“We will be following the most up-to-date COVID-19 protocols,” the CAS board said.
Currently that includes masks indoors and proof of vaccination.
