Burn ban in Algonquin Park

RENFREW COUNTY – If your camping in Algonquin Park this weekend, better bring your meals pre-cooked.

One of the best places to set up camp in all of Ontario is now under a complete fire ban. Algonquin Park officially declared a total fire ban on Tuesday (June 10), which effects all camp sites, hiking trails, picnic areas and cottages.

In addition, charcoal or wood burning barbecues are also not permitted. Staff will be patrolling the park by boat, plane and other vehicles to ensure people are respecting the ban. At this point, there is no timeline when the ban will be lifted.
