WEST CARLETON – West Carleton’s major interior watersheds are improving, but they’re still pretty darn low and still a “potentially serious problem.”

WEST CARLETON – The Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) proposes to consolidate Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) with four other conservation authorities to form the St. Lawrence Regional Conservation Authority, an area over 18,500 square kilometres and 46 municipalities.  

CITY HALL – The Finance and Corporate Services committee (FCSc) recommended council consider the acquisition of the Capital Region Resource Recovery Centre (CRRRC), a provincially approved waste management site in Ottawa’s east end.

FITZROY HARBOUR – It’s been a couple years, but City of Ottawa staff are returning to Fitzroy Harbour to upgrade another park play structure.

CORKERY – The Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre (OVWBCC), a dedicated charity focused on helping wild birds receive the care they need, announced a significant milestone with the completion of the exterior shell of its new facility located on 8520 McArton Rd., in Corkery.

ALMONTE – At the Tuesday, Nov. 18 Mississippi Mills council meeting, council heard from Birket Foster, Chairman and CEO of Storm Internet. 

OTTAWA – Mayor Mark Sutcliffe will recognize 15 outstanding residents who have been selected for the 2025 Order of Ottawa at a ceremony at Ottawa City Hall on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.
