Arnprior re-opens its outdoors

Special to WC Online

ARNPRIOR – The beautiful weather is here and its time to leave the great indoors behind.

The Town of Arnprior reopened its outdoor parks and sports facilities as of Friday (May 22).

This includes the baseball diamonds on McLean Avenue, for casual use only. Also open are the municipality’s basketball courts located at Atkinson Park, Village Creek Park, and M. Sullivan and Sons Park. The rental of fields for competitive sports will not resume until provincial orders allow for competitive play.

While the town’s parks are open and you can sit on benches and picnic tables as well as use gazebos, these are not cleaned frequently and you are responsible for your own hygiene.

Outdoor washrooms, play structures, swings, slides, splash pads and beaches remain closed.

The Nature Conservancy of Canada has also re-opened the Gillies Grove. The skate park at the Nick Smith Centre will be opening this week, and the municipal marina will re-open June 6.
