Special to WC Online

CONSTANCE BAY – Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has rescheduled its Constance Bay information session on its eastern Ontario hydroelectric operations which will now be held on Tuesday, March 18.

The meeting was originally schedule in Constance Bay on Thursday, Feb. 13, but was postponed due to a relatively large winter storm that evening.

“OPG invites you to attend information sessions on our hydroelectric operations in Eastern Ontario,” OPG released in a statement. “OPG has been proudly operating in eastern Ontario for more than 100 years. Today we have one thermal facility and 10 hydroelectric generating stations on the St. Lawrence, Ottawa and Madawaska Rivers. These stations, their employees, and host communities play an important role in generating clean, reliable power for Ontario. See how we are a part of communities across eastern Ontario and learn about our many local programs, initiatives, and events.”

“Interested in learning more about the operations of Ontario Power Generation?” Coun. Clarke Kelly released in a statement Feb. 25. “OPG is inviting the public to the following information session at the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre. This is a make-up date after the original event was rescheduled due to heavy snow.”

The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Constance Bay community centre (262 Len Purcell Dr.).

OPG will also host an info session the following day (March 19) at the Barry’s Bay Legion (250 John St.) from 7 to 9 p.m. This is also a rescheduled meeting due to the winter storm.
