Mild WC weather creates freezing rain warning this morning

WEST CARLETON – As temperatures transition from below freezing to a high of six degrees Celsius today (Nov. 25) Environment Canada is warning motorists to be prepared for some light freezing rain this morning.
“Given below freezing temperatures, light freezing rain will be possible along the Ottawa River valley early this morning before winds shift and temperatures rise above zero,” Environment Canada released in a statement this morning. “Only very light ice accretion is anticipated.”
Temperatures are forecast to hit 4 C today after an evening low of just below freezing. Weather forecasters are calling for one to three millimetres of rain and less than once centimetre of snow.
Temperatures are expected to reach -2 C this evening with weekend highs of 7 C on both Saturday and Sunday.
The long-range forecast expects temperatures about freezing most of next week including a high of 7 C on Wednesday (Nov. 30). Evening lowed are expected to dip below the freezing mark throughout the week.
