Carp Santa parade bringing back movement Dec. 10

CARP – The 13th annual Carp Santa Claus Parade is on the move again. Literally.

After two years of static parades (although last year’s had to be cancelled at the last minute due to strong winds whipping through the area) due to health regulations surrounding COVID-19, this year’s edition returns to a traditional parade format, but at night.

“The Huntley Community Association (HCA) is thrilled to announce the 2022 Carp Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10,” the HCA released in a statement. “This year, we return to the long-loved format of the parade travelling through the village.”

As is tradition with the HCA Santa Claus Parade the event will accept food and cash donations for the West Carleton Food Access Centre (WCFAC).

The parade will start at 6 p.m. starting from the Diefenbunker Museum, turning right on Carp Road, left on Donald B. Munro Drive, left on Langstaff Drive, left on Juanita Avenue, right on Carp Road and back to the Diefenbunker.

Organizers are now registering floats and if you would like to be a part of the parade, contact Annie and Sandra at oldcarpvintagethread@gmail.com or call 613-558-8286.
