Carp Capers – An evening of one act plays

Special to WC Online

CARP – In the classic movie Field of Dreams the most memorable line is build it and they will come. That is the plan for the Rural Root Theatre Company (RRTC) Aug. 23, 24 and 25.

RRTC has patrons and members from all over West Carleton and yet the venue is usually in Constance Bay.  This time around the RRTC will perform at the Agricultural Hall on the Carp Fairgrounds where we hope to welcome new patrons from the Carp area.  Of course, all loyal RRTC patrons from everywhere are encouraged and most welcome to attend as well.

The evening will consist of three one-act comedies: Blind Woman’s Bluff directed by Ian Glen; Falling Apart directed by Cathy Dowsett; and Safe at Home directed by Ric O’Dell.

Have you ever wanted to be a theatre critic?  RRTC is giving you the chance. Each of the plays presented will be critiqued by the audience.  Your comments will determine which one of the three plays will be the RRTC entry into the Eastern Ontario Drama League One-Act Play Festival to be held in Kingston this November.

More information is available on the RRTC website at www.ruralroot.org

The Carp Agricultural Hall is on the grounds of the Carp Fair and there will be lots of free parking available.
