Dogs of West Carleton

CARP – No sense carping about it, this weekend is for the dogs.
The Kars Dog Show is taking over the Carp Fairgrounds for a four-day event featuring the national Junior Showmanship Finals Competition on Saturday.
The show gets underway Thursday, July 19 and ends on Sunday. The event is being organized by Kody Kaluski with the Ottawa Kennel Club donating the championship trophy.
Corkery dog trophy winner in local event
Corkery resident Justin Kaluski and his German Shepherd Piper were named Reserve Maturity Female at the Ottawa and Area German Shepherd Championship Specialty Show held over the July 13 weekend. The show was judged by Delaware-based judge Charlie Mardecz.
Piper was show by Justin’s sister Shannon.
The Ottawa and Area German Shepherd Dog Club was founded in 1985 by 10 fanciers and was recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club in 1986. The club is also affiliated with the German Shepherd Dog Club of Canada Inc.
