WEST CARLETON – The West Carleton youth softball season has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The West Carleton Softball Association (WCSA) after careful consideration has cancelled the upcoming youth softball season.
“Unfortunately, with the city’s announcement that all sports fields are closed until June 30 at the earliest due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have no choice but to cancel the 2020 West Carleton Softball Association house league season,” Adam Brown, one of many volunteers of the youth sports association, told West Carleton Online this morning (April 8). “Your local association will process refunds for those who have already paid registration fees.”
The WCSA is organized by community and each community, including Dunrobin, Carp, Constance Bay, Fitzroy Harbour and Kinburn for boys and girls between the ages of five and 19. Each community has volunteer organizers putting together teams for those communities. The house league season runs between May and June leaving league organizers very little choice.
“We hope all kids return to play when we are back in 2021,” Brown said.
