WOCRC cancels in-person programming due to COVID

WEST CARLETON – The recent jump in COVID-19 cases and yesterday’s provincial announcement has forced the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) to suspend all in-person, indoor programming until further notice.
The WOCRC hosts many in-person indoor programs in and around West Carleton including Corkery, Fitzroy Harbour, Constance Bay and Carp playgroups several times a week; Baby and Me programming; senior programming; as well as several other programs.
All of those are now in hiatus.
“Due to the recent restrictions announced by the Ontario government, indoor in-person programming is suspended,” the WOCRC released in a statement today (Jan. 4). “Our highest concern is the health and wellness of our families. We will continue to offer outdoor programming, Toys ON Tour services, virtual programming, as well as provide support remotely to families through email and telephone. Please do not hesitate to contact us for information or additional support.”
You can contact the WOCRC by email at EarlyONyva@wocrc.ca or by phone at 613-591-3686, ext. 545.
“Thank you for your patience and support,” the WOCRC said. “We look forward to seeing you in our indoor programs soon.”
IN the meantime, the WOCRC has a few ideas for those looking to entertain the household.
“Looking for activities to do at home?” the WOCRC said. “Check out our family-friendly trivia games, or visit our Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram pages for songs, videos, activities and more. An update about additional virtual programming will be announced soon.”
