This dance spectacular is a big deal to students and staff at WCSS, the students taking dance this semester have been working on the show since September to make sure they are perfect.

The staff look forward to this evening as well, especially dance teacher Alison Hauch who has been putting the show together for 25 years, since 1999.

Hauch does most of the choreography, and planning for all the dance shows. As well, she collaborates with her students to create costumes and props as a part of their summative, to create a unique show for the students and audience.

Each year the show has a special name revealed closer to the date, that really embodies the spirit of this night. Due to inside information the name of this show is expected to be We’re Gonna Make You Jump or My Favorite Things.

“We’re gonna make you jump,’ is a line from one of the songs, and just encourages an interactive and energetic show,” Hauch said.

The other option, My Favorite Things holds more significance.

“I am literally just indulging myself,” Hauch said. “I feel like doing this dance because I really like it, so I want to call it my favorite thing.”

Hauch says attendees will be amazed at the students’ skills.

“It is really amazing to see what students can do when they come together and work for a common goal,” she said. “Lots of classes in school you work fairly individually. You do not have to be a team and support one another through an event like this, and I think it is amazing to see what teenagers can do because essentially when the show is running, they are running it themselves. Everything that is happening on stage is their beautiful work.”
