WCSS athletic director brings in West Wear

DUNROBIN – A new year at West Carleton Secondary School (WCSS) brings new members for the Wolves community.

This year brings Courtney Beaulne.

Beaulne is not new to WCSS. She first worked here in 2011 and has spent the last six years at A. Y. Jackson Secondary School honing her skills to better WCSS.

Beaulne came to WCSS as the new head of health and physical education and athletic director.

With that title she has brought new ideas to strengthen WCSS’s school spirt and community involvement.

“I really believe that good athletic programs stem from community involvement and people from all around our community,” Beaulne told West Carleton Online reporter Lilly Tomas.

With her new position she has found a great way to connect WCSS with the West Carleton community through West Wear Wednesdays.

West Wear Wednesdays is a new spirt boosting initiative where the students at WCSS are encouraged to wear their WCSS or Wolves merch and show off their school spirt.

Also on Wednesdays, to include the West Carleton community, there will be a ‘community partner’ to help support the Wolves Athletics.

“West Carleton has such a strong community backing so why not get them in on some of the fun stuff we are doing,” Beaulne said.

The students are encouraged to go to the community partner each week and a percentage of sales will go towards the Wolves Athletics Department for things like the Tournament of Champions, new uniforms, a new score table and intramurals.

With this new initiative we can except many great new activities and supplies for the athletics program.
