WCOHL season a go

WEST CARLETON – Kids in West Carleton got an early Christmas present today (Dec. 14) when West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League (WCOHL) convenors confirmed there would be an outdoor season this year.
The WCOHL released a statement today announcing the good news.
“Just a quick update to let you know we finally got clearance from the city to host another season,” the WCOHL said.
There will be COVID-19 protocols the league will have to follow and there are still a lot of details to pull together as cold weather approaches this week.
“Your convenors are meeting this week to iron out the details,” the WCOHL said. “We will message you with more updates shortly, but we thought we would share the good news. Have a great day.”
The WCOHL is one of the oldest running outdoor leagues in Canada and is open to boys and girls between four and 15 (depending on availability) and experience is not an issue. Teams are based out of West Carleton’s villages and is open to everyone in West Carleton no matter where you live, you will find a team. The league is non-competitive but does include coaching, practice and referees. The league registration is in the $70 range and runs as long as volunteers are able to keep the ice frozen.
