WEST CARLETON – There may not be games this year but the West Carleton Wolverines Football Club will offer skills camps this fall so players can keep their technique on point for the most technical game in sports.
West Carleton’s football club is offering a fall skills and drills/flag football camp from Aug. 27 to Oct. 8 and registration is currently open (see link below).
“Our fall 2020 program is open for registration,” the football club released in a statement yesterday (Aug. 19). “The success of our camp this year depends on the cooperation of all parents/guardians and players. For the safety of all our players, coaches, and volunteer staff our (COVID-19) rules will be enforced.”
Camp will run Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kinburn Community Centre. Strict COVID-19 protocols will be followed. The camp is for youth between the ages of seven and 13 who live in the territory of West Carleton, the Ottawa Valley and north Kanata. The cost is $115 to participate in the camp.
Players are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of practice in order to follow check-in procedures. Hand sanitization is a must for all in attendance, and will happen repeatedly during practice. Several new forms related to COVID-19 must be completed at check-in. Physical distancing will be respected. All coaches, trainers and volunteers will wear masks. All equipment will be sanitized following every practice. Any positive COVID-19 case must be reported to coaches.
There will be a designated viewing area for parents and guardians.
“We are limited in the number of players we can take,” the club said. “Once our capacity is reached, we will start a waiting list. Payment is only available by E-transfer. Please send your payment as soon as possible, following the directions provided at checkout.”
