WEST CARLETON – While we have already shared two of West Carleton’s biggest kids Hallowe’en parties, there are some other events going on in the community and West Carleton Online will share them with you in the form of our world famous briefs.

Legion Hallowe’en party supports cancer fight

CONSTANCE BAY – This Saturday, Oct. 25, celebrate the spooky (fake) holiday at Branch 616 as the Legion’s annual Hallowe’en party will support Carrie’s fight with cancer.

“Big Hallowe’en party this Saturday at the Constance Bay Legion (377 Allbirch Rd.),” Constance Bay’s Julie Maheral released in a statement Oct. 22. “This party with a purpose, was brought together for the most beautiful and strong woman I know. Come on out and support her and have a great time. Costume up if you wish. Everyone Welcome. Tickets also at the door.”

The party starts at 7 p.m. with live music from NT NRML. There will also be snacks, a raffle, 50/50 tickets and prizes for best dressed. Tickets are $10.

“Come dressed and ready to win in your best Hallowe’en costume while helping support Carrie and her family,” organizers said.

WCASC hosts Carp Fear

CARP – That same night (Oct. 25) on the other side of West Carleton, the West Carleton Amateur Sports Club (WCASC) hosts its third annual Carp Fear Hallowe’en party.

“Join us for a spook-tacular evening hosted by Amy Davy,” the WCASC released in a statement Oct. 22. “Get ready for a night of fun, costumes, and good vibes on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.”

Dress up in your spooky best and get ready for door prizes, live music by Steve Tozz and delicious snacks.

Tickets are $20 to secure your spot. Send an e-transfer to leedavy@gmail.com or call Amy at 613-298-8492 if you have any questions.

“Don’t miss out on the fun,” the WCASC said. “Grab your friends, put on your best costume, and let’s make this Hallowe’en unforgettable.”

Carp creamery serving greatest Hallowe’en treats

CARP – And if you make it through the Hallowe’en weekend parties, make sure you hit the Carp Custom Creamery on Hallowe’en’s official day (Oct. 31).

Carp’s favourite ice cream shop is giving out ice cream on Hallows Eve.

“Free Kids size soft serve for all kids wearing a Hallowe’en costume,” Carp Custom Creamery staff released in a statement Oct. 20. “Offer available Friday, Oct. 31 at both locations.”

Sorry, Constance Bay, both locations mean Carp (3763 Carp Rd.) and Carleton Place (49 Moore St.).

The Carp location will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Carp Hallowe’en Walk

CARP – Also, Hallowe’en night, get your steps in during the scariest walk of them all.

The gang at Meadowridge Circle in Carp will be hosting their annual Hallowe’en walk also known as Carp Fear.

“They had it last year for the first time in the village, and will be doing it again this year,” Bonnie O’Connor told West Carleton Online. “It is held on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. going until about 9 p.m.”

Gather at 153 Cavanagh Dr. and 120 Robertlee Dr. to go in the scariest walk of you life.

“Anita Gibbons is the creator and has done many of these haunted walks in the past, mostly at her home on Jacob’s Gate in Carp,” O’Connor said. “She moved into the village last year. Certainly, lots of screams and laughs are heard there all night.”
