WC Catholic church online fundraising auction on now
By Jake Davies - West Carleton Online
WEST CARLETON – The chance to bid on some amazing and unique gifts in support of two of West Carleton’s Catholic churches is on now and as easy to take part as the click of a button.
St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fitzroy Harbour and St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Constance Bay, both presided over by Father John Orban, are holding an online Christmas fundraising auction with bidding on now until Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.
“From Senators’ hockey tickets to Christmas baskets, homemade pies, preserves, furniture, paintings, antiques and more,” Orban released in a statement Sunday, Nov. 28.
Auction now on until Dec 5th at 5pm.
St. Michael’s and St. Gabriel’s are the Roman Catholic parishes of West Carleton and have been serving the local communities for more than 200 years with places of Christian worship and helping those in need through outreach programs.
“Welcome to our very first online Christmas auction,” Orban said. “Here you will find items for every taste and budget. Some items are new, and others have been already cared for by others. The monies raised will go towards supporting or worship services and our community outreach programs. We also support the West Carleton Food Access Centre and the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre with their community programs as well, we also help out individuals on a case-by-case basis. So, come on in and make a bid, we all win by supporting others with our generosity.”
Now West Carleton normally doesn’t like to brag. Sorry, that’s a typo, West Carleton Online does indeed like to brag, and are proud to point out a one-year subscription to West Carleton Online, complete with a super-awesome West Carleton Online trucker hat, is one of the most active items with seven bids at the time of publication.
