Two men charged in Kanata area carjacking
OTTAWA – The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a carjacking that occurred in the west end of Ottawa on Monday July 9, at 8:52 a.m. The vehicle was located a short time later; it was involved in a single vehicle collision with injuries.
Two male suspects fled the stolen vehicle, leaving a 26-year-old female passenger injured inside the vehicle. The female was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Front line officers and two K9 were involved in a short track, locating and arresting both males. Both males were transported to hospital with minor injuries sustained from the collision.
Dylan Meulmeester, 25-years-old of Ottawa was charged with:
* Robbery with violence
* Conspiracy to Commit
* Mischief over 5000$
* Possession of property obtained by crime over 5000$
* Breach of Probation
Sebastien Bureau, 24-years-old of Aylmer, Quebec was charged with:
* Robbery with violence
* Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
* Dangerous Operation of a Motor vehicle Cause Bodily Harm
* Mischief over $5,000
* Conspiracy to Commit an Offence
* Obstruct Peace Officer
* Fail to Comply with a Probation Order
Meulmeester and Bureau will be attending Show Cause court today (July 10).
