Thunderbird’s Golf for Good supporting DSYTC June 18
Special to WC Online
HUNTLEY – Forget the traditionalists, go golfing at night with a deejay, and you’ll be helping the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre (DSYTC) at the exact same time.

The third annual Golf for Good charity tournament held at the Thunderbird Golf Centre opened registration Feb. 2 and is promising another great evening of fun and fundraising.
“Same mission, bigger energy,” organizer Abby McCorriston released in a statement Feb. 2. “Welcome to Golf for Good. Golf for Good brings people together through the game we love, to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth in our community. Through a thoughtfully curated golf tournament, and thanks to the support of our community, our goal is to continue to raise funds in support of the DSYTC, who happen to be our incredible neighbours at Thunderbird Golf Club.”
Proceeds from the tournament directly support the DSYTC, helping provide critical resources and programming for youth and families in our community. The tournament is Thursday, June 18 with a shotgun start at 9:30 p.m.
The tournament includes a fun and inclusive nine hole, Par 3 round; on-course activations, contests, and challenges; complimentary Domino’s Pizza, a live DJ (DJ Kwame), beverages and pre-round social networking opportunities; and prizes, silent auctions, raffles, giveaways, and the chance to connect with fellow supporters.
Golf for Good was founded by McCorriston, a passionate leader in the sports and recreation industry who believes in the power of golf to create meaningful community impact. With years of experience building youth-focused programs, McCorriston created Golf for Good to bring people together through an exceptional golf experience (a unique round under the stars at that!) while supporting a cause that truly matters. The tournament proudly supports the DSYTC, helping provide care, hope, and healing for youth and families in our community.
“When sport meets purpose, real change happens,” McCorriston said. “Every swing, every sponsorship, and every participant plays a role in driving positive change, both on and off the course.”
The cost is $300 per foursome o $75 a gofer and you can register here.
