RCDHU says 10 of 23 COVID-19 cases healthcare workers employed outside of county

RENFREW COUNTY – Almost half of Renfrew County’s COVID-19 cases are healthcare workers who picked up the coronavirus outside of the county.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) released a case information breakdown last Thursday afternoon (May 28) showing the location and status of new COVID-19 cases. The RCDHU confirmed three additional cases of the novel coronavirus.
The information breakdown shows all three of those individuals live in the Renfrew area and are listed as healthcare workers who work outside of Renfrew County and District. The local health unit says 13 of the 23 confirmed cases in the county are healthcare workers, with 10 of those workers employed outside of the county.
All seven active cases in the area are listed in self-isolation.
The case information breakdown shows 10 cases of COVID-19 in the Renfrew area, seven cases around Arnprior, three cases in the Pembroke area, one case around Barry’s Bay, one in Petawawa and one in Deep River.
Riverview Heights retirement home in Pembroke also remains in an active outbreak status.
