WEST CARLETON – This is one train no one saw coming until this past January when ALTO, the Canadian crown corporation tasked with delivering the proposed $90 billion project, announced the nation’s first high-speed train is in the works.
CARP – Corkery’s Dianne Bramble learned she was afflicted with Parkinson’s Disease in 2013. As April is Parkinson Awareness Month and April 11 is World Parkinson’s Awareness Day, Bramble wants those on the same journey to know, a diagnosis is not the beginning of the end.
STITTSVILLE – Two term City of Ottawa Stittsville Coun. Glen Gower will stay true to his word and not seek re-election during the 2026 municipal election scheduled for next fall.

My alma mater is making headlines this month, and for all the wrong reasons. Canadian colleges and universities have been crushed by federal cuts, inflation and the cost of living (just like all of us).
NEPEAN – The All Saints Catholic High School curling team, well represented with West Carleton athletes, is heading to Thunder Bay, ON, to take part in the Ontario high school curling championship.
OTTAWA – As part of their education Carleton University students have been working on a plan to address rural transit problems, specifically addressing the Village of Carp, and last Monday (March 9) they unveiled it to a group of dignitaries.
