OTTAWA – It’s been a great start to the week with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) reporting just one new case of COVID-19 in the city today (Aug. 4) and only four new cases Monday (Aug. 3), as the number of active cases continues to fall.
The agency says there are 196 active cases in the city, down from 212 on Monday.
Twelve people are still in local hospitals with the virus, two of whom are in intensive care.
Overall, there have been 2,560 lab-confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa since the start of the pandemic. Of those, 2,100 (82 per cent) have been resolved.
There have been 264 deaths related to the virus in the capital, but just one since June 25.
Thirteen institutions are dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks, including six childcare facilities.
