Special to WC Online
ARNPRIOR – Ontario Power Generation (OPG) will be hosting four information sessions on dam operations, with the closest one being in Arnprior Tuesday, Feb. 13.
“As spring approaches, OPG invites you to learn about our operations and water management on the Madawaska and Ottawa rivers,” OPG released in a statement. “We look forward to meeting you.”
The sessions will focus on OPG’s Eastern Operations.
“OPG has been proudly operating in Eastern Ontario for more than 100 years,” OPG said. “Today we have one thermal facility and 10 hydroelectric generating stations on the St. Lawrence, Ottawa and Madawaska rivers. These stations, their employees, and host communities play an important role in generating clean, reliable power for Ontario.”
OPG is hosting four sessions in various communities along the Ottawa and Madawaska rivers kicking off in Mattawa, ON, on Feb. 5, at the Mike Rodden Arena and Community Centre; then in Pembroke on Feb. 6 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre; then Barry’s Bay on Feb. 12, at the Barry’s Bay Legion; before the final stop in Arnprior at the Nick Smithe Centre (77 James St.) on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
All sessions will run from 7 to 9 p.m.
