She was employed for many years in the telecommunication field in Toronto, Halifax and Ottawa. A love of adventure and an ability to
adapt were highlighted in her travels and allowed her to live in interesting locations around the world with her family.

Marilyn was an avid and active volunteer in her early years as a Youth Leader, then with C.G.I.T (Canadian Girls in Training) and later with the Girl Guide organization as a Brownie leader in Nova Scotia. She most recently founded the W.I.S.H (Women Initiating Self Help) after recognizing a need within the community. Marilyn kept an open door policy and her home was a refuge to many including an abundance of pets. Everyone had a home with Marilyn.

Marilyn will be remembered for her generosity, kindness to others and her strength and courage while dealing with Multiple Sclerosis.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the care staff at the Granite Ridge Care Community where Marilyn resided for the past nine years and a heart felt thank you to the medical staff at the Queensway Carleton hospital for going above and beyond.
