Geoffrey Meredyth Cafley

October 1, 1944 – August 26, 2018

Geoffrey Meredyth Cafley passed while surrounded by the love of friends and family, Geoffrey Meredyth Cafley, passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Almonte General Hospital at the age of 74. He was the loving husband for 30 years of Susan Carol (Spinks). He will be greatly missed by his children, Matthew; Julie (Luc); Chad (Marisa) and Kirk (Robin). He was adored by his grand-children Taylor, Lily, Zacharie, Théo, Joseph, Aubrey & Bodhi. Son of the late Margaret (Fargher) and Ronald Cafley, he is survived by his siblings, Judith (Gordon); Elizabeth (Sher); Mark (Nancy) and Rennie. He was a professor of accounting at Algonquin College and remembered as an entertaining teacher.

He sold many cars at Arnprior Chrysler that had only been driven by elderly women. He was known for his dry sense of humour, that hid a deep sensitivity and love for others. He told us he loved us, by asking the timing of our most recent oil change. He was deeply generous and kind with friends, family and complete strangers. His favourite spot was smoking a cigar on his boat at the cottage. Arrangements by the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior.  

There will be a visitation on Friday August 31, 2018 from 7-9pm and on Saturday from 10 onward.  The memorial service will take place on Saturday at 11am in the Boyce Chapel.  A private burial will occur at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Parkinson Canada in Geoff’s honour.
