David Laurence Cooper
David Laurence Cooper,
(May 21, 1946 – August 22, 2022)
Passed away at age 76 with his wife, and his son and daughter-in-law by his side at the Ottawa General Hospital. Loving husband and soulmate to Suzie (née Robitaille) for 40 years. Loved dearly by his son, Vince (Carol). Proud Grandpa to Lucas, Adam, and Jake.
Predeceased by his parents, Desmond and Winnie. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his sisters, Frances (Rocco) and Pam (Mike), his nephew Carl (Shadia and their son Idris), and his niece Nicola (Richard). In addition to a fulfilling career in electronics engineering, Dave took time to enjoy life at the cottage, cycling, and trips with his family. As a longtime member, president, and show chairman of the Ottawa Orchid Society, and a member of Naismith Men’s Shed in Almonte, Dave will be well remembered for his love of nature, volunteering his handyman expertise to his community, and his British dry sense of humor.
Donations in memory of Dave may be made to the Queensway Carleton Hospital – Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre. A special thank you to Dr. Rachel Goodwin and the nursing staff at the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre, Dr. Lisa Rosenkrantz and staff at the West Carleton Family Health Team, as well as the nursing staff at Bayshore Home Health in Carleton Place.
