Catherine Mary Shane-Valliant,

September 21, 1959 to December 27, 2019 (age 60)

With sincere sadness we announce the death of Cathy, December 27, 2019, surrounded by her family, at her home in Carp, Ontario, after a short battle with a very aggressive bile duct cancer.
Born September 21, 1959, the fifth child of a family of ten to Donald and Shirley Shane of Crysler, Ontario.
Cathy leaves her loving family; her husband Ross and Ross’s son Todd, whom Cathy cherished as her own son, and Todd’s spouse Tammy, her granddaughter Isabelle, her grandson Charlie and Tammy’s two boys; Ross’s brother Wayne and his wife Jane and their extended family.
Fondly remembered by her father Donald and his friend Loretta. Cathy further leaves five brothers and four sisters and their spouses, Debbie (Rene), Brian (Kathy), Carolyn (Theo), Richard (Margaret), Sheldon (Dianne), Sharon (Darren), Steven (Rita), Donna, and Charles (Jane).
She lovingly cherished all of her nieces and nephews. Cathy worked at the City of Ottawa for over thirty eight years, retiring in 2015; her last several years as a Project Manager.
Cathy enjoyed golf, curling, kayaking and vegetable gardening; she relished her home and family cottage. She endeared herself friends, neighbours and family.
Our family would like to especially thank the doctors and nurses who care for cancer patients in the hospitals and those who provide palliative care in one’s home.

Thursday, January 2, 2020, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Celebration of Life service to be held in the Chapel, Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m.
