Madawaska hosting scramble golf tournament for juniors, parents

ARNPRIOR – The Madawaska Golf Club is hosting a junior golf tournament where youth can play with their parent or in a two-junior category Aug. 13.
“Looking for a fun activity to do with your kids?” club manager Victoria Smith released in a statement today (July 26). “Join us on Sunday, Aug. 13 at the Madawaska Golf Club for a two-person scramble on Sumac Grove course.”
Sumac Grove is a shorter, executive course made up primarily of Par 3 holes and some Par 4 holes.
The tournament is presented in partnership with The Optimist Club and “lots of prizes are being donated.”
Along with the two categories (one adult-one junior and two juniors) of two-man scramble golf tournament (shotgun start), there will be a putting, chipping and long drive contest as well as a post-tournament barbecue.
“Calling juniors, calling families, get out and have some fun together before our summer comes to an end,” Smith said. “Join us and the Optimist Club of Arnprior for a day of fun, food and laughs.
