Special to WC Online
ARNPRIOR – The Madawaska Golf Club is hosting a junior tournament giving young golfers a chance to enjoy the fun of a scramble tournament with either a peer or parent.
On Sunday, Aug. 11, The Optimist Club is hosting a scramble tournament on Madawaska’s executive course Sumac Grove, where a junior can pair with another junior or an adult in two different tournament categories.
“On Aug. 11 we are pleased to be hosting an event for Juniors and families alongside our Arnprior Optimist Club,” Madawaska Golf management released in a statement yesterday (July 29). “Join us for a fun event for nine holes on Sumac Grove. With two categories available, prizes, two different times available to tee off at and the most affordable fun available. Sign up today and don’t miss out on a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday.”
There will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m. and it will be a two-man scramble format. Both players swing, and then the best shot is selected for the team’s next shot.
There will also be a barbecue, putting, chipping and long drive contest for participants. Madawaska Golf members can sign up for free, and for non-members adults pay only $10 and juniors $5.
