Live-stream Grove Nursing Home construction

ARNPRIOR – The Arnprior and area community now has 24/7 access to live video feed of the new Grove Nursing Home construction progress from the comfort of their homes.

The real-time footage can be easily accessed through the Arnprior Regional Health’s website.

“The construction of the new Grove is a community project and one that would not have happened without our community’s support,” Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) President Eric Hanna said. “That’s why it was important for us to have the live video feed available so that our community could check in on the project’s progress virtually – anytime.”

The Grove redevelopment project has not been impacted by Ontario government’s public health restrictions during the pandemic and has continued to move forward, while instituting enhanced safety practices for its workers.

The project is more than 15 per cent complete and remains on budget. The concrete foundation walls are now done, and the current construction activities include:

• Underground plumbing
• Backfill
• Masonry walls

The contractor is anticipating a slight delay of two weeks due to a supply disruption during the pandemic, but the target for completion remains summer 2021.

“We are pleased the Grove redevelopment project has been able to continue safely during the COVID-19 situation without any major impacts to the schedule,” Hanna said. “The additional 36 long-term care beds and upgraded home is greatly needed in our community and it’s exciting to see the new Grove take shape.”
