Light up Carp this holiday season
Special to WC Online
CARP – The Village of Carp Business Improvement Area (BIA) is bringing back the Light Up the Village contest this holiday season.
The contest first launched in 2020, and was a way for the Carp community to have some fun, win some prizes and give the village that festive feel.
“It’s for morale and to bring the community together,” BIA board member Neil Falls told West Carleton Online during that first season. “This is something to promote our businesses and shine a little light on our community. Just to get us in the spirit.”
This year the Carp BIA is bringing the contest back.
“Decorate your business and home this season to Light Up the Village,” the Carp BIA released in a statement today (Dec. 12). “The BIA will be offering bragging rights and prizes to the best-lit business and residential home during the campaign.”
The winning entries, as picked by the BIA board, will be awarded a trophy and prizes for their efforts in January 2026.
“May the best lights win,” the Carp BIA said.
