CONSTANCE BAY – Branch 616 is cooking the wings and hoping you’ll come out to help support the Campbells who lost their home and some furry family members in a tragic fire June 3.

Jo-Anne and John Campbell lost their home and everything in it including three of their beloved cats.

Despite the support of friends and community, the couple still have a long way to go.

“I want to thank all of the people who have reached out to offer so many things and so much help,” Jo-Anne released in a statement at the time. “It is surreal when you think of something that you need but you don’t have, and realize it’s gone. The immediate supply of clothing and toiletries and offers for places to stay have been unbelievable. To each and every one of you again, I say loudly thank-you. The support is helping more than you can imagine.”

On Friday, July 18, the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 616 in Constance Bay (377 Allbirch Rd.), will do its part to help the two community leaders by hosting a Wing Night fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m.

“This should be a great night for a great cause,” Branch 616 released in a statement today (July 9). “See you all next Friday night.”

Along with wings, there will be live music, raffles for gift baskets and a 50/50 draw.

“Come out and support an evening of live music, wings and raffles for our beloved neighbours Jo-Anne and John Campbell after their devastating house fire,” Branch 616 said. “All proceeds from the raffles and 50/50 will go to the Campbell’s.”
