WEST CARLETON -Environment Canada is issuing a Snowfall Warning as 15 to 20 centimetres are expected to land on the community starting Wednesday (Feb. 22) evening.
“Snow, heavy at times, will develop Wednesday evening,” Environment Canada released in a statement today (Feb. 21). “Snow will taper slightly Thursday (Feb. 22) morning and may become mixed with freezing drizzle. Another round of snow, possibly mixed with ice pellets, will affect the area Thursday afternoon and evening.”
Some of that snow is expected to fall heavy at times with an expected 15 to 20 cm called for.
“Reduced visibility in snow, heavy at times, and local blowing snow,” Environment Canada said. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
It is expected to be significantly chillier this week with a high of -6 degrees Celsius Wednesday, -9 C Thursday, -12 C Friday and -11 Saturday with temperatures warming up a bit Sunday and Monday.
