HCA hosts spooky Hallowe’en drive-by
Special to WC Online
CARP – The Huntley Community Association (HCA) is suggesting Carp residents pull the old flip-a-roo on Hallowe’en tradition this year by dressing up the houses, instead of the people, on the year’s spookiest evening.
“OK door-to-door trick or treating is not recommended, but we can at least dress up our houses for a spooky drive by,” the HCA released in a statement Friday (Oct. 16). “The HCA wants to use our Facebook page to run a fun event for kids in the village.”
The HCA is looking for at least 10 houses in the village that will volunteer to have photos of their Hallowe’en decorating displayed on the HCA Facebook page.
“We will take the photos using our very talented photographer on the board,” the HCA said. “The HCA will then offer a list of scavenger hunt items to identify for each house and kids will need to pass by the houses next week to answer the questions we post about each display. We know there are some serious Hallowe’eners out there in the community. Some are set up already, some will get set up this coming weekend.”
You can sign up to participate on the HCA’s Facebook page.
“We will start posting pictures next Monday (Oct. 19) and hope to have 10 or more ready to post by Wednesday next week,” the HCA said. “The more houses the better, it can become a drive by/walk by extravaganza for the children, dog walkers and adults of our amazing village. Let’s show our spirit.”
