HCA collecting Christmas cards for seniors

WEST CARLETON – The Huntley Community Association (HCA) is spearheading a program where community members can craft Christmas cards for West Carleton’s seniors.
The HCA is asking residents to make Christmas cards and holiday artwork and the community organization will make sure it gets delivered to a local senior.
“Help us send holiday greetings to our Carp seniors,” HCA director Amy Baldry released in a statement Tuesday (Dec. 8). “Holiday cards, greetings and art work will be collected until Dec. 19, and delivered to the Carp Commons and West Carleton seniors on Dec. 20.”
Baldy says a similar program last spring as the pandemic took hold of the community was very well received.
“Our seniors loved the well wishes and handmade children’s art work they received back in the spring,” she said. “So, let’s do this again with holiday wishes for what is sure to be a very different holiday season for many who are alone due to social-distancing.”
Cards, greetings and artwork can be dropped off to 174 Glenncastle Dr.
“Please place all items in the Christmas box on the front verandah, near the front door,” Baldry said. We will be sure each item is delivered in time for Christmas.”
