Grove COVID-19 outbreak: 20 residents test negative
Special to WC Online
ARNPRIOR – The Grove Nursing Home remains under COVID-19 outbreak protocol as staff ensure the facility is safe and one employee awaits the results of a third test.
On Oct. 22 the Grove Nursing Home declared a COVID-19 outbreak after a staff member received a possible positive test.
“Through the biweekly surveillance, one staff member received a ‘detected’ result, which is considered a positive test,” the long-term care facility released in a statement.
“In follow-up to the COVID-19 outbreak being declared at the Grove Nursing Home, 20 residents were swabbed, and all tests came back negative,” Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) communications and community engagement manager Melissa McDermott released in a statement yesterday evening (Oct. 27).
The affected staff member had a third test yesterday.
“The first one came back ‘detected’ and the second was negative,” McDermott said.
The staff member remains at home on self-isolation until directed otherwise by Renfrew County and District Public Health. (RCDHU)
“As the RCDHU continues to take a cautious approach, the Grove remains on outbreak with the necessary restrictions in place and Arnprior Regional Health is monitoring the situation closely,” McDermott said.
