Galetta Community Associations postpones AGM, promises outdoor rink
Special to WC Online
GALETTA – In a long line of cancelled annual general meetings, the Galetta Community Association (GCA) has joined the group.
The GCA normally hosts its AGM at the end of November, but in the year of 2020, the GCA board has decided to postpone the meeting this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As you are no doubt aware, the Galetta Hall and grounds have been and are closed to all events with only a limited, modified version of lawn bowling happening: GCA secretary Sandra Fletcher released in a statement Friday (Oct. 16). “Further in this line we now announce our annual general meeting is being indefinitely postponed. The current executive will continue to monitor the situation acting on problems as they come to light.”
But there’s some good news coming from the GCA in terms of outdoor recreation.
“On a more cheerful note, as the weather cools and conditions permit we will be opening our outdoor rink for community use,” Fletcher said.
