Four more die at Almonte’s Country Haven, Renfrew County reports no new cases last week

OTTAWA VALLEY – COVID-19 continues to devastate Almonte’s Country Haven long-term care home as four more residents pass away from the disease.
Yesterday (April 19) another four people died bringing the total number of deaths in the facility to 23.
Last week, Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit reported 63 cases of COVID-19 across Lanark County. The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is investigating a total of 247 cases and 32 deaths. New lab confirmed COVID-19 case information in Lanark and district is released Monday to Friday only.
Across Ontario 606 new cases of COVID-19 are being reported with 31 more deaths. Ontario now has More than 11,000 confirmed cases with 584 deaths, however almost half of the cases have recovered.
Renfrew County has gone more than a week now with no new cases of COVID-19. According to the Renfrew County District Health Unit there are 14 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, six cases have been resolved and one death is reported. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit has completed just more than 1,000 tests with 826 of those tests coming back negative. To date, there are 165 tests awaiting results.
