Shoppers won’t miss a deal Saturday, Sept. 21 as the annual Corkery Community Garage Sale returns after a few years’ absence and will feature current technology in the form of a Google Map with all the sales carefully dotted on the Internet to make sure visitors to the community don’t get lost on their way to finding that item they just can’t lie without.

This year’s event will feature a Google Map with all the participating garage sales accurately dotted on the popular online mapping system.

“In the past Corkery has had an annual yard sale at the community centre but we found it was too tedious for people to cart their items to the centre and back,” Corkery Community Association President Katherine Woodward told West Carleton Online yesterday (Sept. 1). “So, we haven’t had one for the last couple of years. We decided to try something new this year where everyone has a yard sale at their own house but we create an interactive map where people can see where all the other yard sales are.”

The event is Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and to access the interactive Google map, click here. More locations will be added as garage sales are registered.
