Euchre coming back to West Carleton
By Jake Davies - West Carleton Online
KINBURN and DUNROBIN – As the weather gets cooler and the evenings earlier, card season approaches and there are two West Carleton hot spots to start throwing them this fall.
St. Mary’s Anglican Church volunteers will be hosting euchre and bridge on the first Monday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. starting Sept. 7.
“St. Mary’s is gearing up for our first Afternoon Community Social of Euchre/Bridge at St. Mary’s Church Hall (2574 Sixth Line Rd.) to be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7,” church warden Suanne Dorion released in a statement. “We are planning to hold this social event on the first Wednesday of the month. Everyone in our community is welcome so we hope you will join and encourage card enthusiasts you know of to join with you.”
Space is limited, so organizers recommend you reserve your table or individually with Terry Hawkes terence.hawkes@gmail.com at your earliest opportunity and indicate your preference for euchre or bridge. Hospitality and refreshments will be provided.
The cost is $10 per person.
If you have any questions regarding this social event, please contact organizer Janet Helmer at (613) 218-7796 or janet_helmer@hotmail.com.
In Kinburn, six-handed euchre starts today (Sept. 1) and will be played every Thursday at the Kinburn Community Centre starting at 1 p.m.
This event is hosted by the Kinburn Seniors Association and will run until mid-December.
