COVID outbreak suspected of killing three at Barry’s Bay Valley Manor

BARRY’S BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak is being blamed for three deaths at a Barry’s Bay long-term care facility.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is reporting a COVID-19 outbreak at Valley Manor in Barry’s Bay.
“The RCDHU is reporting an active outbreak that has resulted in numerous staff and resident infections and the RCDHU is currently investigating three deaths suspected to be associated with the outbreak,” the RCDHU released in a statement Wednesday (July 27).
Valley Manor, the health unit, local paramedics, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital and other partners are working together to reduce the spread in the community.
“Valley Manor is currently seeking support from any residents of Renfrew County and district who are willing to volunteer their time to assist the staff at Valley Manor in supporting their residents,” the RCDHU said.
