Constance Bay Pharmacy providing free masks, sanitizer to seniors

CONSTANCE BAY – In an effort to help those struggling with the increased costs of protecting themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Constance Bay Pharmacy will be providing free masks and hand sanitizer to seniors in the community in need.

Pharmacy owner Tamara Awada launched the program today (June 23) as a way to support those at risk in her community.

Awada said the program is to help keep those at risk safe as the province enters Stage Two of its recovery plan from the COVID-19 pandemic and as the community heads towards one of summer’s traditional celebrations, Canada Day (July 1).

“I just want seniors who are tight on finances to get protection while they are socializing,” Awada told West Carleton Online. “It is purely a program to look after their well-being. Especially now, health comes before anything else.”

Awada has been a leader in community protection during the COVID-19 pandemic. We spoke to her back in March at the beginning of the pandemic arriving in Canada as she worked to keep her pharmacy operating when it was needed the most.
