Commissionaires Ottawa Open auctioning US Open trip in support of Soldier On
Special to WC Online
WEST CARLETON – This summer’s PGA Americas tour stop at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open is always looking for new ways to support its charity of choice Soldier On.
This year they are looking to add to the donation by auction of two four-day passes to the 2026 PGA U.S. Open.
“Each year of the Commissionaires Ottawa Open, presented by Lépine Apartments, we aim to raise $100,000 for Soldier On,” Commissionaires tournament director Andy Rajhathy released in a statement last week (March 10). “After three amazing years of incredible support from the community we have been able to help many ill and injured members of our Canadian Armed Forces and veterans.”
Thanks to a tournament friend, the Commissionaires Ottawa Open, which spent the last three years played in Dunrobin at Eagle Creek Golf Club, has a set of passes for one of golf’s four major tournaments and one of the biggest golf tournaments in the world featuring the best golfers on the planet.
“A good friend of the tournament, Niall Horan from One Direction has wanted to help the event and support Soldier On as well,” Rajhathy said. “Although he couldn’t make it to Ottawa in 2025 and won’t be able to in 2026 at The Marshes, he has put forward the following prize package for us to auction off to raise additional funds for Soldier On.”
The prize includes two four-day passes to the 2025 US Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York state. At the end of the tournament you will receive a signed US Open flag signed by the 2026 champion.
The US Open takes place Jun 18 to 21.
“If you’re interested in this package, please fill out the online auction form,” Rajhathy said. “This is a live online auction and you can view the latest bids. Winning bid goes directly to Soldier On with a charitable tax receipt.”
The estimated prize value is $3,500 and the current highest bid is only $800.
This year’s Commissionaires Ottawa Open will be played at the Marshes Golf Club in Kanata.
